Junior Cricket Journey
Cricket is a game for life — and every player’s journey starts with learning the basics, building confidence, and most importantly, having fun.
Swan View Junior Cricket is there from the very first swing of a bat through to playing competitive hard ball cricket.
Master Blasters Program
This is where the journey begins!
What it’s about:
- Fun, fast-paced sessions focused on participation and enjoyment
- Introduction to basic skills like throwing, catching, batting, and teamwork
- Modified equipment (soft balls, smaller bats) to build confidence
Key focus:
✅ Fun and engagement
✅ Basic coordination and movement skills
✅ Building a love for the game
At this stage, it’s all about smiles, energy, and making cricket exciting for young players.
Modified Cricket
As players grow, they move into structured junior matches.
What it’s about:
- Gradual introduction to real game scenarios
- Slightly harder balls (still safe) and more formal rules
- Shorter pitches, smaller boundaries, and equal participation
Key focus:
✅ Developing batting, bowling, and fielding techniques
✅ Understanding the rules and flow of the game
✅ Building teamwork and sportsmanship
This stage helps players gain match experience in a supportive and development-focused environment.
Competitive Junior Cricket
This is the step closer to senior cricket.
What it’s about:
- Full cricket rules with hard ball (leather cricket ball)
- Use of protective gear (pads, helmets, gloves)
- Competitive matches with a stronger focus on performance
Key focus:

✅ Game awareness and strategy
✅ Physical and mental development
Players learn to handle pressure, make decisions in real-time, and compete at a higher level.
Girls Cricket
Swan View provides Girls Cricket that introduces, develops, and supports female players at every stage of their journey — from beginners to our Senior Women's team.
After participating in our entry level participation Master Blasters program, girls can either play in our mixed gender modified cricket or join our girls only teams.
The focus is on creating a positive space where girls can build confidence, learn skills, and enjoy being part of a team.
Girls cricket is more than just a sport — it’s about belonging, growth, and opportunity.
Whether your daughter is picking up a bat for the first time or looking to take her game to the next level, there’s a place for girls in cricket.
Junior Night Cricket
Junior cricket under lights is fantastic and here at Brown Park we have the best night lights in the metropolitan area outside Perth Stadium.
This season we will have a Friday night matches every week adding a whole new level of excitement, development, and accessibility to the game.
Exciting Opportunities
Swan View provides our juniors the opportunities to play on the WACA, be part of a Test match or Big Bash experience, and chance to meet elite players.
These moments go far beyond a normal game — they can inspire, motivate, and shape a young player’s entire cricket journey.
